Yujintai
Yujintai is a private club interior located in Beijing. The project covers 350 square meters and was completed in 2018. The design applies the aesthetics of the Song and Ming periods to a modern space. The floor is made of dark-grained marble with mountain and river patterns. The ceiling uses a dark gray mirror finish that suggests still water and gentle ripples. Hollow-out frames divide the rooms and create a calm rhythm. A landscape planting area answers the lack of greenery in modern buildings and supports a quiet mood.
Yujintai Club by Jidong Cao has been identified as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Yujintai Club was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
