Straightforward Journey

Straightforward Journey is the interior design of a 53 square meter residential apartment in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The apartment follows an industrial style with a calm and simple base tone. The original ceiling was removed to show the structure of the building, and one wall was replaced by a French window that brings natural light inside. An iron door with grids at the top and bottom serves the bathroom, which has no window, and allows air to flow. A 45 degree wall in the bedroom holds the television and adds storage.

Straightforward Journey Residential Apartment by Yi-Yun Chang has been highlighted as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Straightforward Journey Residential Apartment earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award which rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
