Social Fun
Social Fun is a residential interior design for a two-level home in Taipei, Taiwan. The design places dining at the centre of daily life. The first floor is inspired by the American bar and includes an L-shaped bar, a sofa, a fireplace and a display wine cabinet. Wooden shutters control the light and the privacy of the long and narrow plan. The second floor makes the kitchen the core, combining a dining table, a cooking area and a bar. A staircase links both levels. Shelves and cabinets fill the fragmented corners between the structural pillars.
Social Fun residential house by Ching Jiun Yu was identified as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Social Fun residential house received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2019. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award which honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
