Turandot
Turandot is a restaurant interior that blends Chinese and Italian aesthetics. The space covers 850 square meters on two levels. Two halls are unified by a single design solution: brass pipes that conceal the electrical wiring. The Chinese Hall features traditional ornaments and dragon motifs. The Italian Hall presents a modern digital fresco based on the David by Michelangelo. Materials include marble, granite, gypsum, brass and agate. Almost all elements are handcrafted, and the lighting fixtures are custom made. The interior expresses a dialogue between two cultures.
Turandot Restaurant by Assel Kalyk has been highlighted as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Turandot Restaurant received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which recognizes exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
