Ref Okinawa Arena
Ref Okinawa Arena is a hotel located inland on Okinawa Island, away from the coastal resort areas. The eight-story reinforced concrete building has a total floor area of about 5,929 square meters and contains 150 guest rooms, restaurants, two rental meeting spaces, a sauna, a pool and a rooftop bar. The exterior facade is based on the hana-block, a traditional Okinawan vent block, with frames in tropical green and brick red. The first two floors are multifunctional spaces linked by a central staircase and open to a terrace garden facing a public park.
Ref Okinawa Arena Hotel by Daisuke Takamiya has been highlighted as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Ref Okinawa Arena Hotel won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade which celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
