Moonlit Treading
Moonlit Treading is a 76 square meter apartment interior in Taichung, Taiwan, completed in September 2023. The design begins with a minimalist impression and then reveals complexity within. Scattered geometric forms create a sense of order, while asymmetrical shapes break it. Serpentinite flooring from Hualien meets stainless steel textured walls in a low saturation palette, and red accents appear in furniture details. Partitions are removed in the common areas, so light and movement flow freely, and changes of material define the zones instead.
Moonlit Treading Apartment by Hsin Ting Weng has been selected as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Moonlit Treading Apartment won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
