Whiteland
Whiteland is a residential interior design for a home of 224 square meters in Taiwan. The ceiling is painted lily white, while the walls, wallpaper, cabinets and stone surfaces are set in deeper tones, so several levels of white show different textures. The long space receives daylight on one side, and all functions are linked by a central walkway. Two of the original four rooms were changed into a shoe storage room and a small bar, opening more space for the living area. Doors can be closed to protect privacy when guests visit.
Whiteland Residence by Ching Feng Chang was featured as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Whiteland Residence was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
