Absolut Lab
Absolut Lab is a pop-up store and exhibition space in Shanghai, China. The interior was created from modular components, which allow the space to be dismantled, recycled and reused. Design inspiration was drawn from the Mobius Strip. The entrance features a curved corridor made of polycarbonate sheets and mirrored materials, forming a fluid circulation route. A mirrored ceiling reduces the sense of narrowness. Recyclable kraft paper, stainless steel and polycarbonate sheets are the main materials. All modules were prefabricated, and on-site construction was completed in 60 hours.
Absolut Lab Gallery and Retail by Moneys Studio was recognized as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Absolut Lab Gallery and Retail was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
