Tears in Venice
Tears in Venice is a residential interior design created for a family of four in Taipei. Two housing units were merged to form one open living space. A girder crossing the main area defines the ceiling height and separates the living room from the open kitchen. Daylight is drawn deep into the interior, creating layers of light and shadow. The cabinets are planned to form a continuous line of light and to provide large storage. Columns and walls near the entrance are rounded to soften the structure and to support a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Tears in Venice Residential by Raymond LI was identified as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Tears in Venice Residential won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition that honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
