Gentle Expression
Gentle Expression is a residential interior design for a 201 square metre home in Taichung, Taiwan. The layout follows a natural and simple style. Metal and glass form modern lines, while wood is added to warm the colour temperature. Different materials mark the layers of each area and combine rigid and soft qualities. Hidden doors on the living room columns store the sliding glass doors, so the space becomes more open and transparent. Walls covered with veneers support the calm tone. Planting and natural light shape an eco-friendly home.
Gentle Expression Residential Space by Chia Mien Chang was identified as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Gentle Expression Residential Space earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
