Resee
Resee is a sculptor's studio located in an office building in a high-technology zone in Fuzhou, China. The interior serves as a workspace, a reception area and a meeting space. An oriental landscape garden is placed inside the modern architecture. The design follows traditional Chinese gardening techniques that borrow views from the surrounding space and light. Recycled old wooden boards, paint and gravel are used to keep costs low. Water and electric lines run through the ceiling, so the existing floor is kept intact. Indoor plants and gravel help reduce the use of air conditioning.
Resee Studio by Stone & Forest Architects has been recognized as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Resee Studio received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award that honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
