Huixian Lou
Huixian Lou is a restaurant located on Beijing Financial Street. The project covers 860 square meters. The exterior is wrapped in a pale gray metal grid that forms several hazy layers between the street and the dining areas. These layers create a calm transition and leave the noise of the city outside. The interior recalls the elegance of Song dynasty style through a modern expression of traditional culture. One hall is six meters high and shows a video artwork on the wall. A stage surrounded by semi-translucent gauze hosts harp performances each evening.
Huixian Lou Restaurant by Ao Han has been selected as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Huixian Lou Restaurant was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program that rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
