Cloud Flows
Cloud Flows is a residential interior located in Taipei City, Taiwan. A partition wall was removed to merge two adjacent spaces into one, joining the windows on both sides into a single large opening that admits daylight and frames the mountain scenery. A meandering wall of black granite runs through the interior and forms its visual center. White granite, limestone bricks, gray mirrors and iron hardware complete the material palette. Private areas are placed at both ends of the plan, with shared areas at the center. The air conditioning system is concealed in the ceiling.
Cloud Flows Residence by Hung Yu Chen has been identified as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Cloud Flows Residence won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade which rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
