IE Sushi and Teppanyaki is a fine dining Japanese restaurant in Hong Kong. The interior combines Art Deco forms with Japanese details to create a new Oriental style. Sapele wood is used throughout, and each room has a different geometric pattern and decorative wood moulding to mark its zone. The sushi bar is pentagonal, with a diamond cut bulkhead whose reflected light eases the effect of the low ceiling. A metallic dragonfly lightbox conceals the ventilation system and serves as decoration. The balcony offers a quiet place for relaxation after the meal.
Ie Restaurant by Vincent Chi-Wai Chiang was identified as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Ie Restaurant won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award that recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
